　 北海道以南の沿岸に普通，砂浜の砂中（岡田ら 1965）， 日本各地，千島列島，朝鮮半島～台湾，シベリア， 北アメリカ西岸，砂浜の汀線付近（西村 1995）．

　 ある期間，ミユビシギに専食される（秋山 1985）．
