　 世界的広分布種，本邦沿岸各地， 海藻苔虫などの上に群棲（岡田ら 1965）， 世界に広く分布，日本沿岸内湾域の海藻類， 定置網，ロープなどに付着（西村 1995）．
　 模式産地はモーリシャス Riviera Noire（McCain 1975）．
