　 頭部に2対の目をもち，体前部の無叉型疣足は28対，体後部の背足枝に "mucronate hooded" な単一剛毛をもつ． 新潟沖から報告された G. armigera Moore 1911（Hayashi 1988），および 九十九湾から記載され，厚岸湾からも報告がある G. nipponica Imajima 1967 （Imajima 1967, 1994）　とは異なる．
　 G. capensis の模式産地は南アフリカ False Bay（Day 1967）．
