　 潮岬，紀州田辺湾，2～30m（内海 小郷 1968）， 紀伊半島以南，深さ50mくらいまでの浅海（内海 1983; 1990）， オーストラリア，セイロン，インドネシア，マレーシア，フィリピン， サンゴ海，ニューカレドニア，サンゴ礁 8-92m，模式産地はフィリピン 33m （Challenger stn.208） lectotype BM 1888.1.9.120（Rowe et al. 1986）， 紀伊半島（稀）以南，インド洋・西太平洋（奥谷 1994a,b）， 紀伊半島以南，外洋性海岸の岩礁帯（西村 1995）， Subic Bay，フィリピン（Arguelles et al. 2010）．

　 タテスイクチムシ（スイクチムシ目） Myzostoma costatum Leuckart 1830 が共生する（Imajima Hartman 1964）．
